Terms of Service
Last updated August 29, 2026
These terms govern your use of DetailHive. They are product terms, pending lawyer review.
1. The service
DetailHive is shop software for auto detailers, operated at detailhive.io. A shop owner account gives you a public booking page at {slug}.detailhive.io, plus tools to see appointments, clients, job photos, inventory, and mileage.
On Pro, a shop can use a business phone and SMS line, and an AI voice receptionist. Email and SMS reminders, review requests, and weather alerts run only if the shop turns them on. Auto-reply is not on by default.
DetailHive provides software. We do not detail vehicles, employ your staff, or become a party to jobs between a shop and its clients.
2. Accounts
Shop owners create accounts with email and password, or with Apple or Google sign-in. Two-factor authentication is optional. A session stays signed in with a refresh token. If 2FA is enabled, a new device may need a second factor.
You are responsible for the people you invite, the credentials you use, and activity on your shop account. Contact us through the Contact page if you think an account was used without permission.
3. Shop owners and clients
Shop owners and their team members run the shop account. People who book on a public booking page are that shop’s customers. They are not creating a DetailHive shop account by booking.
Shops own their client relationships. VIN numbers, client records, job history, and photos are treated as that shop’s business records. Other shops must not see them.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use DetailHive to:
- Spam, harass, or send messages people did not agree to receive
- Break the law, or try to access another shop’s data
- Probe, scrape, or overload the service beyond normal shop use
- Misrepresent who is sending a call, text, or email
We can suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is abusing the service or putting other shops or clients at risk.
5. Phone, SMS, and voice
DetailHive provides the tools. The shop is responsible for consent and for the purpose of its texts and calls. We do not collect the end-customer’s SMS consent for the shop. Texting is 10DLC-gated and may stay off until carriers approve the shop. We do not guarantee carrier approval or that a number will be assigned on a particular timeline.
For carrier SMS registration we may collect the shop’s legal business name, EIN or tax id, and tax street address — including during Pro checkout, not only from a later identity form. That information is not published on the booking page.
SMS may go out through Telnyx or SignalHouse, depending on the shop’s line. The AI receptionist answers inbound calls only when the shop turns it on. When that receptionist is on, inbound call audio is streamed to xAI. Some shops use Telnyx AI Assistant as a fallback instead. Auto-reply is not on by default.
6. Payments
DetailHive subscriptions are billed separately on Stripe to the shop owner. Job card payments go through DetailHive’s Stripe platform account and are then transferred to the shop’s connected Stripe account. Shops can request a bank payout from the app. We do not store full card numbers.
Shops may also accept cash, Venmo, check, or in-person cards. Stripe processing fees apply on card charges. If a shop sets a tax rate, that rate can be added to online booking totals. Mileage logs can show IRS rates for deduction estimates. That is not tax advice.
For questions about a DetailHive subscription charge or a refund, contact us. Stripe processes the charge. We do not publish a separate refund schedule here.
7. VIN and vehicle data
When a shop records a VIN on a client or booking, that VIN and matching job history stay scoped to that shop. Other shops must not see them. Vehicle-spec lookup is not part of the public website today. iOS can scan a VIN; this website does not look up NHTSA specs.
8. No guarantee of results
We do not guarantee bookings, reviews, carrier approval, uptime of third-party services, or any particular shop outcome. The product can fail, and vendors we rely on can fail.
9. Limitation of liability
DetailHive is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost bookings, lost profits, carrier delays, payment processor issues, or data that a shop or a vendor gets wrong. If we are liable, that amount is limited to what you paid DetailHive for the service around the time of the claim.
Some rules about liability cannot be limited. Those rules still apply.
10. Termination
You can stop using DetailHive and ask us to close the shop account through Contact. We can suspend or end access for unpaid invoices, abuse, or legal risk. After an account closes, we may keep records we are required to keep, as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
12. Contact and disputes
These terms are for use of DetailHive in the United States. We do not name a governing state. Start any dispute or question through Contact at detailhive.io/contact.
